Title: High Idle Post by Magni Fan on 07/19/09 at 03:07:03
Hello everyone.
I've had some really great success with My16m and it has transformed my 1100ie engined Magni, but one problem remains. When the engine gets hot the idle speed more often than not sticks at 2000+ and only by engaging 1st gear can I use the clutch to gently drag the speed back down to the 1100 area, however once there it stays there all day quite happily. Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to change the mixture settings to get a normal decline in revs? Thanks in advance. Ashley |

You made the initial TPS and idle adjustments? What valves did you end up with?
If the idle is generally I above 1200 when warm,I'd wind the idle screw back or the bleed screws. Then redo the above. At the high speed idle point you can reduce the fuel and spark advance. This would be at map 0,4 probably. It's 25 degrees on the map I just looked at. Try 20 |

I would search the fault rather on the mechanical side. To me it sounds more like you had a slightly cracked intake manifold (rubber part between TB and head). I remember having had similar symptoms on carburetor bikes.
My experience with the MyEcu says that the only tricky thing with maps is starting the engine, under warm conditions trickier than under cold ones. And even this is rather harmless once you really understand how it's working. Hubert |

Thanks. I bought some new rubber inlets a while ago so will try swapping them out.
