Title: Tacho output
Post by jocke on 08/17/09 at 20:04:25
How does the tacho output work? The reason that I am asking is that I have an innovate LM-2 that I am trying to log with.

Earlier I have used the LM-1 and it picks up the signals good but the problem is that the LM-2 is famous for having problem to log a clean RPM.

I tried a clamp on the igition lead but the RPM is jumping up and down on the LM-2.

I tried to connect the negativ lead the the coil. Does not work. I was thinking that it might be possible to use the tacho signal. What is it? A square? What is the frequense? Is it the same as the RPM?

I have a note (from the v11lemans forum somewhere) it's square wave, 2 pulses per revolution. So 37 Hz is 1100 rpm, 267 Hz is 8000 rpm. I'm not really sure if this is correct.
