Title: Cylinder offset mapping Post by jocke on 10/21/09 at 04:16:00
I have a feeling that this has been up before but I can not remember.
When I do auto tune with dual lambda it looks like the offset trim is limited to +/- 10%. Is it any reason for this? Is it possible to get more. What about if I manualy enter 15% offset? Will it be 15% or will the ECU go crazy? Will it ignore it and give 0 offest?? It might sound stupid on a guzzi but on Ducatis it is not enough with 10% offset in some points in the map due to the different inlet and exhaust routing. How can I get more offset. 20% would be perfect. Jocke.......... |

I believe you need new Optimiser firmware from Cliff, here is the old discussion: http://cajinnovations.com/yabb0/YaBB.pl?num=1241986474/10#10
So this issue is solved, if I understand that post right, but not announced or listed anywhere but subtly in post #10 in some oldish thread. I really miss something like a 'changelog' listing more or less stable versions and features. I for one would love to know if soft disabling (from the Optimiser) of closed loop is now implemented. If it was long ago, it would have spared me from removing my seat a lot of times - but only provided I knew it and got it! Edit: even with that new firmware you can't go beyond +15% or -16%. But that is quite an offset. I understand there's different cooling, different exhaust etc. involved but I would have guessed 15% should do. BTW lately I've come to realise my next bike will be a MyECU-compatible Ducati for sure. Or a Highland 8-) |

Yes new Optimiser firmware will fix that and yes there is soft disabling in the Optimiser config menu.
I am actually going to have changelist and firmware announcements in this forum. I have a new release expected in a few weeks so you beat me to it. |

I confirm that. W 143 you can f e have 12% in offset map, I`ve done it. But I agree, as in http://cajinnovations.com/yabb0/YaBB.pl?num=1241986474/10#10, up to 20% would be good f e f Ducs. |

Is the possibility for bigger offset map figures,
like f e +25%, fixed in any firmware/EcuControl? Why limit offset at all? |

The problem is the bit stuffing required to fit things into a micro with limited memory. I've only allow 5 bits for the offset.
Its hard to imagine you need more than the +-15% available. Why do you think it needs more? |

One percent is nothing, you could keep the bits but double their effect. Maybe as a "Ducati feature" :)
I agree more than 15% sounds like something else is wrong. |

More than 15% difference is a lot, but not uncommon for ducati's. I've seen differences up to 20% dialed in through PCIII

I don`t think I need more,
my LC-1 loggings w broadband Lambda tells me so. |
