Title: Move ignition 90 degrees?
Post by greenmonster on 01/27/10 at 05:06:34
My friend has made an assembling error, camgear 90 degrees off, so both cyls spark 90 degrees off.

Is it possible to alter ignition in software 90 degrees?
Possibly as simple as instead of f e 36.13 in SpkAdv map, writing 126.1? Does the 143 accept that?
Are P7/P8 engines wasted spark?

It would be best to do it with the TDC= value.
The value would depend on which type of ECU it is. For the P8 current value is 0x1C00. You could try 0x1800 to bring it forward. 0x0000 to take it back. These are untested though and you may discover some new bugs.

None of the ECUs are wasted spark.

Don't forget reporting back, Gert. Or did you never try it? I heard rumors of him moving the sensor, if that's the same bike. This was caused by mixing cam parts from different models, right?

New start attempt hopefully this evening, same engine raz. Will report.
It is the alcohol 4V I`ve mentioned.
Troubles from having an S4 (WM 1.5) v various trim parts & adjusting to P8 loom, flywheel, various gears etc.
Jocke`s idea w P8 working w newer engines is good...
