Title: O2 Targets, Flags & SW1 Post by Rat Patrol on 12/26/10 at 11:18:15
I searched the posts and reread all of the manuals, there's a few things I'd like to make sure I'm understanding.
O2 Targets - I am using dual LC-1's. I understand that the targets need to be negative values, is -3v leaner than -2v?. Flags - I understand these are used during closed loop mode to call out the target voltage. Are they completely ignored in open loop mode? Switch1 - If i've selected "None" for the O2 sensors in ECUController, do I also need to set SW1 to "ON"? Apply O2 Correction - I was experimenting with this with the bike stationary. In closed loop mode I held it at 2500 RPM. I was getting a correction factor around 80%. I clicked the button to apply the correction factor expecting the change to be made and the correction factor to go to 100% but there was no change. This isn't a major issue, just a nagging thought that I'm doing something wrong. I'm having fun learning with this. It's intersting to see the ecu correct the mixture and the O2 levels be brought in line. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Pete |

is -3v leaner than -2v?. - Yes
Are they completely ignored in open loop mode? Yes at the moment. do I also need to set SW1 to "ON"? No I would not use the Apply o2 correction feature. It is old and I've actually removed it from my current test version. Those changes are also too large to apply to individual entries and the resulting map is bound to be worse. If you are seeing consistently large offsets you should first use the global map adjust feature to bring all cells to be within 10% before using the automatic tuning features. You best way forward would be to log the ECU data while riding and then when back home analyse the logs and come up with a modified map for the next ride. Do you have the Optimiser? It would be well worth it for your setup. |

Thanks for the clarification.
I thought that was the case RE the "Apply Correction" question. I wasn't too concerned about that one. I'd been playing with the closed loop mode just to see what it would do. My next round of tuning will be just as you suggested. Open loop, log the results, make changes as necessary. I don't have the Optimiser, I'll consider it. Thanks again |

Had a re-read of this coz i am getting funny readings on the O2 sensor side. Since the change to my control160 (may have been there before 160) I noted that the second O2 sensor is showing a floating voltage - I don't have two LC1 so where is it getting the signal from? Also even worse last month for some bizarre reason I adopted o2(2) instead of o2(1) and heading off up the hill today there was all manner of banging and farting. I said to myself - "that's not right" and turned around, stopped and had a poke about through optimiser screens. I thought at first I had lost the o2 sensor, then maybe dumped a v/v or worse. After a bit of twatting about with the optimiser I thought lets go open and see what pans out. Ah...that' s better [smiley=thumbsup.gif]. Back at the lab I checked back through the maps and spotted the mistrake. Question remains though - why the floating o2(2) voltage?
The voltage seems to float up to that expected to be seen and when running up the road a change in throttle position revert the % offset to zero then it drops to -25% over a couple of seconds. It's not problem now I have recognised it or.. is it? Also have done the first log using the mobile and BT. Bloody hell- it's a finicky fluckner to get them talking. |

Well it will float as it is unconnected. To make it more obvious you could ground it or you could connect it to the other input.
My Sport map is set to inp 2 so maybe you got it from that. |
