Title: Posting Maps?
Post by Rat Patrol on 01/04/11 at 12:12:21
I'd be interested in seeing what solutions work for others. I'm curious about what you've learned about what works for your bike and riding style.

I'm having fun and making progress with mine, but there seems to be a bunch of things that we can change. Not looking for someone to solve my issues, but it might be helpful to see the range of solutions that others have come up with.

If Cliff has no objections, I'll start off by posting mine in a later message.

Nevermind.

...didn't realize there was a 2,000 char limit to posts.

I think this is a good idea but I think the format should be discussed here first so as not to create a huge mess.
I can create a new area and up the limit if required.

Rather than just posting maps, I'd like to see the changes that have been made.

My suggestion would be to

Bike Description - ( Some of this could be part of the thread title if we have one thread per type of bike )

Starting map as attachment
Final map as attachment

Differences ( inline/coloured as produced by some difference program )

SGTM - can't understand why this hasn't been proposed before now. Maybe the cases of offline "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" were sufficient. If CAJ sets up the subsection for 1100 sports inj I'll post my data FWIW. It would be handy to also have a wee subjective comments field containing stuff like e.g.:- mid range still seems weak, slight issue starting, pops on over run, consistently 85 mpg+, entirely happy with set up, it's a total bag of sh1te, top end needs more work, etc. etc..

That would be great. My thoughts were as Cliff stated.

Bike description
Engine
Mods
Map
Riding style or tuning goal (is this a track bike, or daily driver, tourer?)
Comments such as areas that still need some attention.

Cliff, if you can set it up I know I'll contribute.
Pete

I would, too, once I get my Laverda 750 Formula running with the My16M. We have made over 100 Maps - none are running good in all parts. I think I have to start all over again really with the basics to be honest...

Going back to basics was what worked for me. I was able to identify the cells where most all of my riding was done, and focus on those.

Up to now, I've just focussed on adjusting the Injector Duration. Found out that my engine and setup really prefers a much leaner map than the stock or Cliff's basemap.

I spent too much time on transitory cells.
Raz's plugin helped me with logging, and that was what showed me the cells that were most important.

I've added a Maps section. I also seemed to have fixed the problem with adding attachments.
