Title: Unusual ECU Programming Post by Rat Patrol on 01/29/11 at 09:26:59
On the Gran Canyon forum, there's talk about how the Suzuki ECU's change the mapping when the clutch is pulled in.
This sounded unlikely, but someone posted dyno runs with the clutch switch shorted, and without it shorted and there seemed to be a definite difference. Is there any chance that anything like this happens with our ecu's? I personally don't run the engine with the clutch disengaged except when shifting and I can't imagine why the map would need adjusting. Just Confused, Pete |

MyECU does not do anything like that. There is no input from the clutch.

Makes me curious (well it's winter). Pete, could you post a link to that discussion?

Here's the link. I have to say, I'm baffled as to why a manufacturer would do this if this is in fact the way their ecu works. http://wotid.com/tls/content/view/18/56/ |

I guess it helps changing gears. It could be an emission thing too.
