Title: Other setting
Post by meccanicadacorsa.com on 12/05/11 at 09:38:46
what's the setting value for TDC for set tdc after different number of pulses?
and i would like to know if is possible to set the ecu for a 360 degree pickup instead 720 degree..
thanks

The standard for My16M is the 22nd pulse
In the line below the 16 is hex for 22. The first pulse after the sync is the 0th pulse.

The last 2 digits are a fractional pulse setting but that is untested functionality.

There is still an assumption that the timing comes off a CAM so 720 degrees. It will probably work off a crank in a wasted spark mode.

Can you give a bit more information about what you are trying to achieve.

MyECU Cfg TDC=0x1600, CylOffs=270, PulsesPer=48, MissingPulses=3

the tmax has a rpm sensor with 12-1 pulse on the generator rotor which is on the crankshaft, i tried to set this setting with a wasted spark, considering 720=360 the second cylinder is 90 (180 in reality) degree after the first, but the max spark advance on the map is 60° for 720° cycle which are the 30° in wasted spark mode, 30° are so few when the rpm are near 9000-10000
thanks a lot again

I see. Let me how a think about it for a few days. Are there any other issues for that mode?

i think no..but if i set 12-1 number of pulse the idle rpm is high

The ECU reports the RPM as twice the real value?

You could use the
Quote:
MyECU Cfg TDC=0x1600 ...
expression for dialing in some static advance and add this to the restricted 60°/30°. I think the 750 Guzzi engines had up to 8° static advance.

the rpm are twice when bike is on but is enough to set the correct value in the map, the high value of rpm is when bike is off and it isn't the twice

Just to be clear, we're talking RPM as displayed by the ECUController or Optimiser.
If you're using a different type of tacho than normally driven by a 16M then that's a different issue.

rpm displayed by ECUController on PC tomorrow i'll try again and i can be more accurate

I've tried, when bike doesn't run and the ecu is connected with ECUController 15.1 if i use the map Sport4.ecu the RPM are 200, if i set 12-1 pulse the RPM are 800..

I've decided how best to implement this. I'm going to use the missing value's top bit to indicate crank driven systems.
So rather than you specifying 12-1 in your map file you will add 128 to it.
I'll try and code the changes tomorrow so hold off the map changes until I finish. Meanwhile you can set yourself up for upgrading the firmware - http://www.cajinnovations.com/MyECU/FirmwareUpgrading.htm .
Send me an email so that I can reply to it with the new image.

Alternatively you could buy a spare chip off me and I'll program the code into that. Send me and email for this way also.
