Title: My v11 MyECU Experience Post by tattootim on 08/29/13 at 13:39:21
I thought I would share My Experience with MyECU. I purchased my bike last year and it was fitted with a MyECU and came with a hardware Optimiser and o2 sensor fitted. I was never successful in getting it hooked up to my laptop through the usb port but didn't try too hard as I was planing on getting work done to the engine. The bike ran ok but had a horrible hickup at 3,500rpm right where you usually cruise. Anyway the bike went off for new cam, valves, pistons pushrods etc and while away I purchased a Galaxy tab 2 with the thought of going to the android optimiser. After reading the forum I figured it was the way to go. When I got the bike back it was way out of tune (harley mechanics would seem to not want to know or try to know anything else where I come from). Anyway after balancing throttle bodies setting the TPS with a multimeter and taking out the lash in the connecting rod on the throttle bodies things were running better but I couldn't get the tablet to communicate with the ECU. Step in Cliff Jefferies What a legend. It turned out my MyECU was and old one and needed to be upgraded and that the Galaxy tab 2 has a bit of an issue itself with the coms. Anyway Cliff upgraded the ECU and put in a fix on the Tab. It still refuses coms on the first try but then pairs on the second attempt every time. I emailed a log through to Cliff and he had me make a few adjustments to the map that instantly made a difference. Now I've been riding with the tablet in my tank bag logging the ride. After I can replay the log or just go straight in and adjust the map. Its quite interesting and although some of it is still a bit over my head I am moving forward with a better tune, occasionally going backwards but in all working towards closed loop running in perfect tune. I have to say the android optimiser has been great and Cliff says there is more to come so it can only get better. Go MyECU and Thanks Cliff. Next on my list is a video for you tube.

Yep. I have mine since 2005 or so and couldn't tell one single bad story. Hardware, software, support, I wish I'd find it in this quality in other fields of the daily life also.

My experience is positive as well.
I've got some new mapping regarding starts, but I'll post that later, when I get a spot of time. |
