Title: Up and Running
Post by shieldslad on 07/10/15 at 07:33:26
Hi all, just thought I'd say hello after lurking on here for a few months. I've had a few Guzzi's over the years, a MK1 LM, two MK 2's, V1000 G5 and a V65 GT. Last year I bought a 1998 1100i, it showed all the usual symptoms, coughing and farting, cutting out at the lights, poor tickover etc. I'd previously put together one of Cliffs Rec-Ignition kits for my Le-Mans and had great results so a couple of months ago I bought a MyECU kit. With lots of help from the ever patient Cliff it's in the bike and so far I've done about 250km. I started with Cliffs map, adjusted it a wee bit as it was a tad weak at first but I was still getting the odd cough at about 3,000.  I put Raz's map in and away we go ! No more hiccups although it sometimes takes 2 or 3 prods of the starter button to fire up when stone cold. So hats off to Raz.

One odd thing though is that the throttle/rev counter feature is a bit temperamental, it usually starts off OK, alternating between the two, but as time goes on, the pointer on my rev counter starts to swing wildy between about 500 and 9000. Of course my answer to that is to flick switch 3 to on and then the rev counter works properly.

So there you have it, another satisfied customer, thanks Cliff and thanks Raz.
