The Guzzi heads seem to benefit from early injection. But InjAdv specifies the trailing edge of the pulse which is more optimal for setting late injection. The default value of 525 will do fine for most of the map but at the longest pulsewidths and highest rpms, the leading edge of the pulse will actually be placed way back in the beginning of the previous cycle's intake stroke. Is this what will actually happen, or will MyECU delay it in this case?

(To remedy this I made an InjAdv table in excel that take the pulsewidth and engine speed into account and ended up with InjDur ranging from 715 at idle down to 140 at WOT@max rpm. This will ensure we don't start injecting until after the previus cycle's intake valve close. Having an option to specify InjAdv as leading edge would make this much easier - it would say 740 across the map.)

MyECU will not do any special adjustments.

Thanks. And what is the InjAdv when cranking? Is it taken from map cell 0,0 or is it fixed?

It will be taken from 0,0 or the first column. Can't recall offhand whether the throttle is ignored for this.
I'll look at the code later an confirm which it is.

Update: It will take the entry from the relevant map cell.
The throttle ignore is only for the duration where the prime value is used when the RPM is less than the first column RPM.

Have been experimenting with InjADV on ST4.
Started with 600 btdc map came with, went to 540, now at 450.
Throttle response has improved quite abit. Idle is more stable also.
Looking at fueling suggestions post ride, quite a few spots that require a little extra fuel after setting adv at 450.

I found some info from Motec on injec adv.
The base line recommendations is to start at 270 btdc,  at 1000rpm,adding 20 deg every 500 rpm, upto 4 to 5k rpm. After this, little to be gained. I went with 30 deg jumps between cells.
The 270 degis is around mid way of intake valve opening period. I found my ST started much easier with this injadv timing.

Doing a few calcs,
At 9600 rpm, crank is moving approx 58 deg/ ms.
Longest inj period for my ST4 is 11.7ms.
This takes 674 deg of the cycle to complete.
At this point little to be gained or lost with inj adv timing.
I set my rpm limit at 8k. Just have no need to rev beyond that.
My typical cruising rpm is around 4 to 4.5k rpm.
Using 4.5k,  27deg/ms. Inj duration in 3ms range.
Inj only lasting 81deg approx. Given inj finishes at 450, it is starting around the 530 deg mark. Fuel only spending around 3ms before intake valve opens.

Will continue to tune and test.
Map attacched to show inj adv table etc.

Making more adjustments to injection map.
I have tightened up the end of injection.
Attached map will show changes.  Map is fine to use, but fuel fine tuning is on going.
Initial testing, much better. Throttle response is improved across rev range. Engine feels like it's more free reving.
Fueling, so far was able to lean up some more based on suggestions from app. I have a gauge installed on the ST, with this set up, fueling is more stable.
Testing will continue, will post updated map in appropriate place.
