15M + PF4C (HD TPS) = Woes

I am hoping to get some advice from the group regarding the purchase of a MY15M.

My 2003 V11 Sport Ballabio (MY04) has a replaced TPS (PF4C), due to the cost of an OEM PF3C (AUD$750). It really has issues of stumbling around the TPS transition point and stalling upon coming back to idle from speed. Additionally, the idling is not very smooth. I have had notable specialists in Australia look into this and only fix it to the ECU's best potential.

Being a lifetime Japper rider, I am very used to ultra-smooth riding, not the 'character' of this Italian beauty.

My questions are; Is it very easy to understand how to amend the cells, when setting up the MY15M ECU for the first time. I do not really understand ignition/injection etc and would like a 'turn key' solution. Has anyone produced an optimal map that I may start with, using the same My15M ECU on an equivalent bike (2003-2006 V11 Sport)? Would you be willing to share it !?!?!

I am not sure what I can expect in putting this in, I am not in range of an experienced dyno operator or others familiar with this product. I hate trial and error, but want a better solution than just putting in another piggyback unit, such as the PC III USB etc....

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

It's almost plug and play. You will get a suitable map with your MyECU and from what I've heard that works fine for most people. Some basic tuning may be needed to set idle.

You will find several people willing to share whole maps or just experiences and suggestions for fixing specific issues. Look at http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13803 for some discussions from before this forum was available!

Raz,
thanks for the encouragement and link. I should have mentioned I am a member of V11Lemans and I have actually trawled that site at length. My problem is that most bike owners who have done this mod have the 16M or the older V11, pre-O2 sensor.

I was reaching out for those with a bike similar to mine, who may have perfected a map.

The search continues.
