My 16M maps
05/31/10 at 11:55:51

G'day, I'v just built & put in a My16M III and was curious if anyone had a map that I could try. I've got a 98 Sports Corsa 1100 with termi exhausts. I'm new to fuel injection and have never even seen fuel maps or such, since my old 850 Lemans III didn't need them http://cajinnovations.com/yabb0/Templates/Forum/default/smiley.gif. I'm in the process of learning though and would like to compare different maps to get a better feel for it. The bike starts and runs much better than before with the original ECU, although it doesn't like cold starts much. And any suggestions about anything else that would be good for my bike would be great as well. Cheers.

Lots of posts here about cold starts. My starts got better once I set TPS at WHB spec and set idle speed using the (0,1) map cell instead of cheating and use the screw. I use the prime/crank tables supplied by Cliff, unmodified.

Actually I just put the engine together yesterday, from bits and pieces. I set TPS at spec, cranked w/o plugs until I got oil pressure, then mounted plugs and it fired at once, with just fast idle and not touching the throttle.

Thanks Raz, I'll double check the TPS. Also waiting on my Carbtune to make sure throttles are sycned. The bike runs excellent though, I'm not sure about mucking around with the prime/crank table, I'll get the nerve up to tinker with it after I enjoy riding it around a bit longer. It was a chore to ride before. By the way nice picture of the bike on your web page, I like the rear wheel guard, bike looks fast.Did taking the air box out and putting pod filters on improve the bike any? I've heard removing the emission crap is also good, am concerned if it's going to stuff barometric pressure around. Eventually I'll go O2 sensors.

Whatever you do to the prime/crank table, it will not affect running at all, just start up.

I actually tossed those pods pretty quick after reading a huge decrease in midrange fueling from closed loop. They looked nice though. I guess the pods may improve breathing at near redline but it definitely had the reverse effect at midrange. Air box is in again and since this spring it's also an OEM paper filter in it, after I overhauled my heads.

AFAIK the emission stuff does no harm to performance, I can't see how it would? But I haven't seen any, I never had it as it's a US and Swiss thing. Australian too? Or did you import it from US.

Ah that's to bad about the pods they look good (I wonder if there's a way around it). The bike is Australian, I was curious about the emission stuff because of this web page http://home.pacbell.net/guzzi007/tps/TPS.htm
I only assumed that my bike has it.
