Theoretical question
12/01/10 at 10:42:06

Interpolation & other issues aside,
could the whole 500 RPM row (all TPS values)
in InjDur table be set to 0?

The 500 RPM column is important for starting the engine.

It may also come into play when you let the clutch out too early with not enough throttle.

From http://www.jefferies-au.org/MyECU/index.htm : Sorting the starts:

Quote:
During stage 1. the throttle is ignored completely. This allows flooding to be cleared by opening the throttle. The injector duration is controlled only by the "Prime" line in the map.

My question:

Answer.

I`m a little confused,
does the the first 500 RPM row in InjDur table
affect starting or not?!?

Just want to know.

There is stage 2 after stage 1.
If you do what you suggest you will fire but not run.

The amount of fuel for starting,
is it only the Prime line that decides all fuel
or does InjDur table 500 RPM row also affect the amount of fuel for starting BEFORE it runs?

I think a light just went on in my head.  Up until now, the only way I could get my '97 Sport i started was by using the throttle while cranking, but I thought that was normal.  I guess that means that my Prime setting is too rich, right?

It is easy to be too rich or lean as that table has quite an effect.

Only change those entries by 1 at a time and remember its temperature indexed.

Yeah, it's -1 C in my garage right now, so I think I'll wait awhile before I get back to work on it.  Thanks for the info, though.
