Voltage reads 25.1v

Hi, now have My15M MkIV fitted to bike and communicating happily with the Ecu Controller.

Have loaded the supplied sport.ecu map, what a relief to see the cells being filled!

All parameters normal except for voltage at 25.1v.  I found an old post about a similar problem with an My16M where you suggested two resistors were probably transposed. I believe they were R22 and 24, do you think this is my problem? Same resistors in the My5M?

The throttle reading only goes up to around 840 at WOT, is this OK. Idle set at 100 (I believe this equals around 500mv which is my idle setting when using the OEM ecu.

Sometimes the Ecu Controller does not see the My15M until I briefly stab the starter switch, then stays in communication OK.

The engine has coughed a few times and even run for about 3 seconds. I will warm it up tommorow with the OEM ecu before trying again.
I am feeling happy at how far I have got though.

Yes it sounds like the resistors are transposed. You don't mention what yours are.
The 12V goes into a 47k resistor then the 10k to ground.

The injectors will not fire while the ECU is seeing this high voltage.

Sorry did not explain very well.

Apart from the high voltage reading on the Ecu Controller display I was not aware there was a problem.  I was not sure if I actually had 25.1 volts somewhere within the My15M or that there was was error in the figure displayed.

I have not measured this voltage anywhere with a multimeter. The only voltage measurements I took with a multimeter were those suggested by you using a nine volt battery as a power source.

I was hoping you could tell me if I actually have a problem and if so which are likely to be the suspect components.

I think the injectors must have fired a few times as it definitely ran for a few revs.

The start priming may not be blocked by the over-volt logic.
It sounds like those 2 resistors.
The other possibility is associated diode, I think its D5, is reversed. You''' have to follow the trace from the junction of those 2 resistors.

Ok, the two resistors were in the correct place however D5 was wrong way round.  I think it is D5 as pcb is difficult to read, it was the middle of three diodes between C9 and R17b. Voltage now shows as 12.7v.

Attempted start, ran for about five seconds then cut out. I can hear the pump do its usual 2 second cycle when switching on ignition.  Displayed voltage dropped to 10.5v during starter operation.

I will recharge battery and warm it up with the OEM ecu tommorow and retry.  I am concerned it is only running on the prime fuel.

I am not sure if D16 is in the correct way round, the black ring is on the end nearest R31 as seems to indicated by the pcb, however your pic MyECU_ass19 shows the band nearest R12b.

Oh, I have finally worked out the resistors supplied use the five band code rather than the more usual four band code.

It sounds like you just have tuning ahead of you.
When the engine stops do you hear the fuel pump run for a second or so?

The "first steps" does recommend warming up the bike on the OEM ECU is possible.

When making map changes, the safest way is to edit the map in a text editor and just use the ECUController to download the resulting map.

For getting the idle right there's only 1 or 2 cells
involved.

Yes the pump does run on for a few seconds.

Just a bit concerned at correct way round of D16, pcb seems to show band pointing towards R31 yet photo shows band on the end facing R12b.

Oops, the photo is wrong. I must of corrected that later because test step 3 would find that.
