Hi all, I have a Scura V11 and am currently getting the engine rebuilt with with a hot cam solid pushrods and race valve kit. The bike was set up with an optimiser mounted to the handlebar when i bought it but was running open loop and running rather well. Over time it started to get a little miss at 3000 rpm and then developed an oil leak from the barrel base hense the desision to rebuild as its getting up to the 100k mark. Anyway I was never able to get the computer to hook up to the bike (port problems i think) but decided I should be able to use the optimiser for the time being. The question I am getting to is does anyone have an idea as to wether the bike will run on the old map when put back together. The plan is to take it to a dyno and tune it useing the optimiser. Are there any flaws to this plan. Would I be better off using the dyno afr probe or going closed loop on the bike, maybe both. Should an average Joe on the dyno be able to use the optimiser to make the nesisary changes.

Taking the bike to the dyno without any experience with MyECU or the Optimiser is a good way to throw money away and possibly make the bike run worse.

Rather than the dyno you should look at going closed loop. Money better spent IMHO

You've bought the bike off someone who bought the MyECU and probably don't know too much about. The first thing you should do is contact me so we can get the computer talking to the ECU. Better still look at using the Andoid Optimiser.

I understand what you are saying and yes I would like to go closed loop and the bike is set up for this. The dyno is just a way I can tune the bike without riding down the road trying to tune it. I am really just hiring the rolling wheels and fans. The guy that originally set up the MyECU must have known what he was doing cause he road around with the optimiser velcro to adjusting it until he had a good map and the bike was running great. He then switched back to open loop and left it alone.
Can you with your experience tell me if the old map should run the bike when it goes back together with the new parts? albeit maybe out of tune and yes some help with the communication with the laptop when I get the bike back would be great and very much appreciated

So I have gone through the bluetooth thread. Would you say that this is the way to go now? Is the software getting better to use than the last computer software I downloaded and better than using the optimiser that I already have to perhaps auto tune or are we not quite there just yet? I think I will just go closed loop when I get the bike back and see how it goes and do a bit of auto tune with the optimiser.
With the bluetooth develpment going the way it is, does this mean the optimiser will soon be obsolite in favor of an android device? Did i see mentioned being able to use an Apple device (which I already have)?

I only intend bug fixes for the windows software atm. The android app has loads more potential then the Optimiser and can fit in the pocket easier than a PC.

The iPhone version is being done by a MyP8 owner with my help.
I've actually just spent a few days with him in New Zealand. I don't have any control over when it will get done though.
