My15M MkIV running strong on 900SS
04/05/11 at 03:16:49

Hi all ,

With some help from Cliff , and triple checking the PCB , I downloaded the map I have developed for the oem Ecu using Technoresearch's Direct Link and TechEdge's 2Y1 WB datalogger .
Bike started on the third prod , played with the idle mixture a bit and went for a ride .
After 100kms I couldn't believe how good it run - I was expecting some initial problems  Roll Eyes
Well , sure enough , there is one . Starting  Embarrassed
I'll be reading and asking , if you 'd bear with me .
Unfortunatelly , I'd have to give My15M to a friend with a Mandello Rosso , since the Duc serves only as a testbed .
I plan to buy one for myself later on .

Cheers

There's a little description at the end of this page about starts - http://www.cajinnovations.com/MyECU/FirstSteps.htm .

Until you find the right settings make sure you keep the bike battery on the charger, even while starting, and do labour the starter motor past 5 seconds.

A common mistake is to be too rich. Can you smell fuel? Maybe a quick check of the plug my tell you.

Angelo, I've got a 1999 Cagiva Gran Canyon, it's the 900SS motor.

I found, as Cliff mentioned, that starting and idling was significanlty improved by leaning out the start/idle mixtures.

Good Luck,
Pete

You might want to sort out all teething problems (at least with engine starting) before installing the sprag clutch. I've heard of cases where heavy kick-backs destroyed them. This is not specific to MyECU except for the fact that you have a greater chance of being out of tune when experimenting (or with a new MyECU)
